Tour of Britain Mural
It seems a while ago that the Tour of Britain passed through the Town of Thetford. As part of events that went on in the Town to celebrate the occasion, Keystone received funding from Breckland District Council to create a mural. The mural is now on display at Keystone Green Bikes at 39 Brunel Way, IP24 1HP and can be viewed Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 5.00
The mural was created by members of the Recovery Through Art Project based at the Abbey Community Centre, which holds weekly sessions and is targeted at people in recovery from addictions or coping with low level mental health issues. The group, which started in March this year, are not trained artists but have an interest in it, their skills have grown hugely during this time as can be seen in the picture. Holly Sandiford Project Co-ordinator says “The mural was designed and created by the group members- they have been involved every step of the way. I am really proud of how they got so stuck into the project. It’s exciting for us all to see the mural displayed at Green Venture Bikes and to know that lots of people will see it there. It really gives the group a sense of pride in their work”
If you have pictures of the day, please bring them up to us and we will hang them around the mural to enhance the memories of the day.
Keystone Green Bikes recycles bikes and sells them to the community. We rely on donations of bikes and collections from Bury and Mildenhall Household waste sites. If you have a bike that you no longer use and would like to donate or if you are interested in volunteering at the shop please contact us on 01842 821459 or email email@example.com or drop into our shop on Brunel way.
The shop sells a wide range of refurbished bikes to suit all ages together with a selection of new bikes and accessories.
The Recovery Through Art Project runs on Tuesdays. Anyone interested please contact 01842 768 300 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
